Modus OperandiGilles de Rais killed his victims in many different ways, none of them merciful. Some ways he killed the young boys would be by stabbing them in the jugular vein, decapitation, cutting their throats, dismemberment, or breaking their necks. Gilles de Rais did not kill his victims the same way, the only consistent thing he did was putting them through massive amounts of pain and doing it as slowly as possible. Most of his victims had three things in common, those are that the majority were boys, they had blond hair, and blue eyes.

How I was caughtGilles de Rais was caught by getting into a violent dispute with a clergy man. This eventually lead to a more intense investigation and brought his obsession of killing to light. In court he confessed to killing the children, and his servants also testified against him. Gilles de Rias was found guilty and sentenced to death.
